We are developing the country in a multidimensional and comprehensive manner: Prime Minister

Lalitpur, June 21 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today inaugurated the Gwarko flyover on the Kalimati-Koteshwor section of the Kathmandu Ring Road.

Prime Minister Oli inaugurated the newly constructed flyover at a program organized by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Built under the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) model at a cost of Rs 17 crore 6 lakh 88 thousand by Ashish Samantar Railiger JV, this flyover is Nepal’s first. The structure includes a 4-lane bridge with a 35-meter span and 500 meters of approach roads. Construction began in 2078 BS (2021/22) to address traffic congestion at Gwarko intersection.

Speaking at the program, Prime Minister Oli expressed happiness about the construction and inauguration of Nepal’s first flyover of this type, stating that the traffic jam problem at Gwarko has now been resolved. He expressed confidence that everyone would support the government’s multidimensional and comprehensive development approach.

“We are continuously moving forward on the path of development. Yesterday, it was proven that Dailekh has methane gas reserves that will last Nepal for 50 years. One well among three wells produces that much gas. I had initiated the excavation work myself. After the Dhaubadi Iron Factory starts, iron production in Nepal itself will significantly advance the country’s economy,” Prime Minister Oli said. “When development happens this way, the currency that would go abroad stays in Nepal. There will be great economic benefits and employment opportunities at home. We will extract other minerals. We will modernize agriculture. We will establish new industries and advance the country through social and administrative reforms. We should not express despair and dissatisfaction under any circumstances. We must move forward prioritizing hope and possibilities.”

Stating that the Sunkoshi Marine Diversion Project and Hulaki Highway will transform the face of the Terai and bring about a transformation from Mechi to Mahakali, he mentioned that the country is in a state of wanting to gain momentum. He said that the Madan Bhandari Highway, Pushpalal Mid-Hill Highway, and many other projects will gain momentum.
