Prime Minister’s Call to Make Investigation and Prosecution Evidence-Based and Effective

Kathmandu, 30 Jestha. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged to make investigation and prosecution evidence-based and effective with the use of technology to assist in dispensing justice.

While inaugurating the third national conference of investigative police and prosecuting government lawyers today, Prime Minister Oli urged to conduct investigation and prosecution in such a way that justice can be delivered unambiguously through prosecution and factual evidence.

“To prevent injustice in society and for social good governance, it is necessary to create timely laws and their effective implementation to create a humane and just society through various research and studies. For this, there is a need for qualified, capable and honest human resources along with proper resources and means. The government is committed to providing those materials and opportunities,” Prime Minister Oli said. “There must be cleanliness, impartiality, and transparency in the police. The government will pay necessary attention to service facilities so that officers don’t have to worry about inadequate facilities.”

Prime Minister Oli stated that since criminals use various methods and technologies to cover up crimes, police need to be equipped with new technologies and resources to immediately bring criminals under control, and that flawless police investigation alone shows the path for dispensing justice.

In the conference attended by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Attorney General Ramesh Badal and others, Prime Minister Oli also urged everyone to engage in providing equal rights and opportunities through systematic management and to focus on aspects of development, good order and good governance while taking action against the guilty and providing justice to victims.

The two-day conference organized at Police Headquarters, Naxal will issue a declaration with conclusions.
