Agency. The death toll has reached close to 8,000 due to two major earthquakes in the border region of Turkey and Syria on Monday. 7,800 people have been confirmed dead in Turkey’s southern and northern Syria.
Rescuers are searching for survivors. According to international news organizations, 5,894 people have died in Turkey and 1,932 in Syria.
Rescue operations are being affected during the night due to extreme cold.
